- Of the Town of Niagara, NY, passed away from this life on Saturday, January 7, 2017, peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. He is now at home with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Mr. Davis was born in Niagara Falls, Ontario, on May 28, 1931 the son of the late Maurice J. and Mary A. [Hendershot] Davis. His family later moved to the Town of Niagara where he worked on the family farm and continued shipping hay down south to the present day.
In 1960 he founded his own insurance agency now known as William Davis Inc. Bill spent countless hours meeting with people from the area and getting to know them personally while discussing their insurance.
Mr. Davis also enjoyed meeting up with his friends and little buddy Nathan at his favorite coffee shops. He was a quietly generous person and always gave an honest opinion of things.
He was a lifetime member of the Niagara Presbyterian Church in the Town of Niagara, having served in various positions including Elder, Building & Finance and Personnel committees. He was also instrumental in arranging for the animals used in the church's Living Nativity Scene.
Mr. Davis is survived by his loving wife and sweetheart of 60 years, Doris (Haseley) Davis, a daughter Renee (Gary) Haseley, two grandsons Rev. Jonathan (fiancee Rachel Birke) Haseley and David (Amanda) Haseley, a sister in law Alice Haseley, he is also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was the brother of the late Daryl (Wyona) Davis and brother in law of the late Howard (Elverna) Catlin, Reuben (Lois) Haseley, Glenn (Shirley) Haseley, Milton (Doris) Haseley and Raymond Haseley.
His family will be present on Monday from 4-7 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM.
Memorials can be made to Niagara Presbyterian Church, Barefoot Christian Community or to Niagara Hospice.
Interment at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Town of Wheatfield NY.
