- Martha L. Darlak, age 82 of Wheatfield, NY, was called peacefully to her heavenly home on April 3, 2025, at her residence, which was the home her late husband, Robert Darlak built, while under the care of her loving family and Niagara Hospice. Born in North Tonawanda, NY on July 12, 1942; she was the daughter of the late Allan and Hilda (DeVantier) Grawe. Martha was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church, in Wheatfield. She had been employed at Jenss Department Store, and Tops Market. Martha retired early, so that she could enjoy spending time and watching her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards and Bingo with her family and friends, spending time in her pool and gardening. Martha enjoyed family traditions, especially loved decorating the entire house for the holidays, making pierogies, and cooking her mother's recipe for rice pudding. She was also predeceased by her twin sister Margaret (dec'd Henry) Failing; a brother, Daniel Grawe; and a daughter, Claudette Lemieux.Survivors include two children, Jeanette Prohaska and Glen (Jody) Darlak; five grandchildren, Dalton (Christina) Lemieux, Hunter Lemieux, Lynnea Lemieux, Cole Darlak and Cloe Darlak; one great-grandchild, Archer Lemieux; a sister in law, Fran Grawe; son in law, Marlin Lemieux; and many nephews and nieces. Friends may call at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield, on Sunday (April 6) from 4-8 p.m. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Michael Borgstede, on Monday (April 7) at 10:00 a.m. in St. John Lutheran Church, corner of Niagara Falls Boulevard and Ward Road in Wheatfield. Memorial contributions may be made to Niagara Hospice.
