Philip C. Walck
SANBORN — Philip C. Walck, 82, of 3971 Lockport Road, died Friday (Nov. 14, 1980) in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center after a long illness. A lifelong Sanborn area resident, he was a farmer prior to being a production worker at the Carborundum Corp. for 18 years retiring in 1963. He was a member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church; was treasurer and director of Cooperative Fire Insurance of Bergholz, which he belonged to for over 50 years; was a member of the Wheatfield Senior Citizens (he was senior citizen of the year in 1978); and was an exempt member of the Sanborn Fire Co. Survivors include. his wife, Rose (DeVantier) Walck; two daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Phyllis) Kroening and Mrs. Arnold (Mae) Behrens, both of Sanborn and seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. John H. Crilley officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the Rhoney Funeral Home, Sanborn, from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. The Sanborn Volunteer Fire Co. will conduct a memorial service there at 8 p.m. Sunday. Contributions to the Lutheran Vespers or a favorite charity will be acceptable as tribute.
