James H. Beutel, 45, a former
University of Georgia football
coach and a native North
Tonawandan, died yesterday at
Mount St. Mary's Hospital in
Lewiston.
A physical education graduate
of the University of Tennessee,
Mr. Beutel coached football in
Louden, Tenn., and Savannah,
Ga, in addition to the University
of Georgia.
He returned north 17 years
ago and resided in Niagara Falls
until nine years ago, when he
and his wife, Lauretta
LeBrasseur Beutel, moved to
their present home at 2550
Upper Mountain Road, Sanborn.
Mr. Beutel had been employed
as a driver for United Parcel
Service for the past nine years.
Besides his wife, he is survived
by a son, James M.; his
mother, Mrs. Josephine Beutel,
and a sister, Mrs. Maxine
Warner, both of North
Tonawanda, and several nieces
and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m.
Thursday from Zajac Funeral
Home, 319 24th St., Niagara
Falls. Burial will be in Gate of
Heaven Cemetery, Niagara
Falls.
