- Janet Anne Herman, age 79 of Wheatfield, NY, was called to her heavenly home on July 15, 2022, while under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on December 20, 1942; daughter of the late Norman and Irma (Schimschack) DeVantier. A graduate of Niagara Wheatfield Senior High School's first graduating class in 1960. Janet was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, in Wheatfield. She was a devout Christian with a passion for our Lord. Janet loved cooking, baking, crafts, spending time with her family, and loved all animals.Preceded in death by her husband, Sherwood "Woody" Herman in 2016. They were married on September 2, 1961. Survivors include three children, Darlene Herman of North Tonawanda, Jeffrey (Karen) Herman, and Debra Herman, both of Wheatfield; five grandchildren, David Bartlett Jr., Diana (Ernie) Hoover, Jennifer Bartlett, James Bartlett, and Emily Butski; four great-grandsons; a sister, Yvonne (late Morris) Ziehm; brother, Kenneth (Dorothy) DeVantier; and many nieces and nephews.Friends may call at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield, on Monday - July 18, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Michael Borgstede, on Tuesday - July 19, at 11:00 a.m. in St. John Lutheran Church, corner of Niagara Falls Blvd. and Ward Road. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John Lutheran Church, or Niagara Hospice.
