Norman A. Mueller, 84, who worked as a machine tender at Kimberly-Clark Corp. in Niagara Falls for 47 years, died Wednesday (Aug. 14, 2002) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a lengthy illness. He had resided in St. Mary's Nursing Home, Niagara Falls, for six weeks prior to his death. He was born in Niagara Falls and attended local schools. Mueller served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a flight instructor.
He worked at Kimberly-Clark until he retired in 1982. Mueller enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, traveling and taxidermy. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and Sunday school class in Wheatfield. He was a past trustee there as well. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, the former Lydia S. DeVantier of the Town of Niagara; two sons, Frederick of Camarillo, Calif., and Donald of Moon Township, Pa.; a daughter, Carolyn Root of Tulerosa, NM; six grandchildren-; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Walmore Road, Wheatfield. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery.

Norman A. Mueller, age 84, of Lockport Rd. Town of Niagara, died Wednesday, Aug 14, 2002 in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, after being a resident in St Mary's Nursing Home for six weeks, after a lengthy illness. Born in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY on January 7, 1918 to Philip and Augusta (Wolf) Mueller.
He is a US Army veteran, serving from 1942-45, in which he was a flight instructor with the WW II Training Service. He was employed as a machine tender by Kimberly Clark, (later changing it's name to Cellu, then Nitec) in Niagara Falls for 47 years retiring in 1982. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, traveling, and doing taxidermy. A member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church & Sunday School class in Walmore, where he is also a past trustee. He was united in marriage to Lydia S. Devantier on Feb 15, 1941, and their marriage was blessed with three children, Frederick (Gloria) Mueller of Camarillo, CA, Donald (Tillie) Mueller of Moon Township, PA, Carolyn Root of Tulerosa, NM, six grandchildren, Kristen, James, Kim, Jason, Jerad, Nathan, three great grandchildren, Gavin, Jacob, and Emma Grace and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, five brothers, Paul, Henry, Mark, Albert, and Daniel and two sisters, Louise Beutel & Helen Mueller.
Friends may call at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Rd (Bergholz) in Wheatfield on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Bruce Gamache on Saturday (Aug 17) at 11;00 AM in St Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church, Walmore Road. Interment in St Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Town of Wheatfiled.
