- Mark R. DeVantier, age 57 and a resident of Richardson, TX, for 21 years, passed away February 27, 2015. He was born November 12, 1957, in Camden, NJ, to Roger Donald DeVantier and Doris Jane (Wittkopp) DeVantier and was a contract negotiator in the telecommunications industry. Mark was a very active member of First United Methodist Church of Plano, where he served on the Staff Parish Relations committee, the finance committee and was a trustee. In his spare time, he loved spending time at the beach, diving, swimming and taking long walks. One of the family’s annual traditions was a vacation at the South Jersey Shore with his parents, wife, daughters, siblings and many nieces and nephews, all who looked forward to this trip. While at home he loved being outdoors, working on projects or just enjoying the beauty of nature. Mark enjoyed all sports, especially golfing and fishing and was an obnoxious Philadelphia Eagles fan. He dearly loved his church, his Sunday school family and all of his family. Mark is survived by his wife: Vicki DeVantier of Richardson, TX; two daughters: Rachel DeVantier of Dallas, TX, and Audra DeVantier of Richardson, TX; two brothers: Wayne DeVantier of Chesapeake, VA, and Keith DeVantier of Westchester, PA; parents: Roger and Doris DeVantier of Cherry Hill, NJ; mother-in-law: Janell Alexander of Rockwall, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister: Joyce White. Funeral services will be held 11:00am, Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at First United Methodist Church of Plano, 3160 E. Spring Creek Pkwy, Plano, TX, 75074, with Pastor Paul Gould officiating. A Night of Remembrance will be held Tuesday evening at the church from 6:00 to 8:00pm.
