  Tonawanda Evening News, Date Published: 16 March 1951 Valerius W. Ferchen, 62, of Niagara Falls Blvd., Town of Wheatfield, passed away this morning in DeGraff Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was a lifelong resident of the Town of Wheatfield and served as the town assessor for the past ten years. Survived by his wife, Helen, nee Voelker; two sons, Valerius Jr., and Robert; a daughter, Mrs. Thomas Eustice; four grandchildren; three brothers, John, David and Paul Ferchen; two sisters, Miss Martha Ferchen, all of the Town of Wheatfield. Funeral services will be at 2 P.M. Monday in the residence and at 2:30 P.M. in St. James Church, Bergholz. The Rev. Otto Bruss will officiate. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery.
