  NF Gazette Feb 22, 1943 Richard Hugo Ferchen. 21, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugo C. Ferchen. of 1115 Haeberle avenue, who has been reported by the Navy department as missing in action. Born in Sanborn. N. Y , the youth was a resident of that village until the time of his enlistment in the navy three years ago. Since the notice from the Navy department reported the youth as missing, several letters have been received from the radioman. His parents and other members of the family have hopes that he is still alive. He is a graduate of the LaSalle high school and is a member of the a capella choir of that school and of the choir at the First Methodist church prior to his enlistment. He is a radio mechanic, second class. The youth has two brothers. Walter, an air cadet at Coral Gables, Fla . and James, a CAP inspector at Lee Airfield Lockport N. Y . and two sisters Laura and Christine.
