  Buffalo News, The (NY) - December 29, 2004 SEPT. 25, 1927 -- DEC. 26, 2004 Shirley L. Ferchen of Bergholz, a member of the Bergholz German Band, died Sunday in Elderwood Heath Care Center at CrestWood, Wheatfield. She was 77. Born Shirley Brooks in Toronto, she moved to the Niagara Frontier at an early age. She attended local schools. Mrs. Ferchen was an active member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Bergholz. She is survived by her husband, Nathan O. of Bergholz; a son, Russell of Lockport; three daughters, DeEtte, Charlene Scherrer and Justine Wright, all of Bergholz; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
