- Myron "Mike" E. Stenzel, age 83, of Wheatfield, was called to his heavenly home on February 8, 2016, at Mount St. Mary's Hospital. Born May 8, 1932, he was the son of the late Erwin and Mary (Leverentz) Stenzel.
A 1950 graduate of North Tonawanda High School, he was a Korean War veteran and employed as a machinist at Kimberly Clark and Harrison Radiator. After retirement he was a courtesy driver for David Chevrolet.
Mike was a member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, American Legion Wheatfield Post 1451, VFW 9011, former Fire Police Captain with Bergholz Fire Company, and enjoyed bowling, horseshoes, Euchre, roller skating, and Bills fan. Mike was very patriotic and displayed the American flag proudly.
Survivors include his wife, June E. (Williams) Stenzel; three children, Jeff (Belinda) Stenzel of Bergholz, Sandy (Bob) Miller of Houston, TX and Dawn Stenzel of Wheatfield; six grandchildren, Nicole, Michael, Allison, Kyle, Sarah and Riley. Predeceased by a son, Michael Stenzel and brother, LeRoy Stenzel.
Visitation at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME, 2436 Niagara Road (Bergholz) in Wheatfield on Thursday 6-8 p.m. and Friday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Services conducted by the Rev. Philip Sallach on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, corner Niagara Road and Luther Street, Bergholz. Interment in the church cemetery. Contributions may be made to the church or S.P.C.A.
