NIAGARA FALLS — Wilmer F.C. Camann, age 95, of Niagara Falls, was called to his heavenly home on February 13, 2011 in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence. Born in the Town of Wheatfield on July 18, 1915 to the late Franklin and Rosa (Jagow) Camann. He attended local schools and was employed at the Carborundum Company-Bonded Abrasives for 40 years, retiring in 1980. Wilmer was a longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church in Niagara Falls. He used to enjoy hunting and years ago played in the Bergholz Band.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Evelyn H. (SaintDenny) Camann; a daughter, Gail (Seale) Williamson of Alabama; two grandchildren, Steven Williamson and Susan Bishop; and four great-granddaughters; a sister, Jean Klettke of Bergholz and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sons, an infant at birth and Gerald Camann; and two sisters, Edna McClenathan and Marion Meitz.
Friends may call at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME, 2436 Niagara Road (Bergholz), in Wheatfield on Sunday from 2-3 PM, followed with a service at 3:00 PM, with the Rev. Matthew Sorenson officiating. Interment in Niagara Falls Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the aides, nurses and doctors at Our Lady of Peace for the care given to Wilmer during his stay.
