Former LaSalle Trustee Passes
A. D. Mueller Well Known resident of That Section
August D. Mueller, a former trustee of the old Village of LaSalle and one of the best known residents of that section of the city, died Saturday afternoon at the family home, 9644 Pine avenue.
Mr. Mueller was born September 23, 1863, on the Mueller homestead, a son of the late Johann Mueller and his wife, Wilhelmine, nee Hellert. He attended the St. James Parochial school of Bergholtz, a Lewiston public school and the Martin Luther Seminary of Buffalo.
On November 4, 1837, he was united into holy matrimony with Miss Albertine L. Walck, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Walck, of the Town of Wheatfield, Mr. Mueller was a carpenter by trade and was widely known as such. He was assessor of the Town of Niagara for several terms and also for a number of years served as trustee of the Village of LaSalle. He was a faithful member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran church of Bergholtz, in which he was baptized, confirmed and married.
The deceased is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Louis Heuer, of Akron: and a son, Edward Mueller, of Niagara Falls; six grandchildren, two brothers, John and Philip, of Niagara Falls, and five sisters, Mrs. George Collins and Mrs. Gustav Haseley, of Niagara Falls, Mrs. August Williams and Mrs. Edward Goerss of the Town of Niagara, and Mrs. John Walck and Mrs. David Heuer, of the Town of Wheatfield, besides a large number of nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home and 2:30 from St. James church, Rev. Otto Bruss, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment in the St. James' cemetery on the Bergholtz road.
