CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO — Gordon Philip Mueller, 77, of Cape Girardeau, MO, died Saturday, October 9, 2010 at the Lutheran Home. He was born July 21, 1933 in the Town of Wheatfield, New York, the son of the late Paul and Edna (Strassburg) Mueller.
He attended Holy Ghost Lutheran School and Niagara Falls Senior High School. In 1955 he graduated from Concordia Teachers College in River Forest, IL. He served the Lutheran Church for forty years as a teacher, musician and administrator at congregations in Cape Girardeau, MO, McCook, NE and St. Louis, MO.
He is survived by his wife, Lida; two sons, Jeffrey Mueller of Muskogee, OK and Thomas (Pam) Mueller of Houston, TX; four grandchildren; one great-grandson, Hayden; five sisters, Madalyn (late Larry) Halt, Shirley Sexsmith, Velma (late Werner) Achenbach, Nancy (William) Lange and Judith (Paul) Janowsky; also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. Gordon was predeceased by brothers, Rev. Kenneth (Mary), Paul (Barbara), Leslie (Jackie) and Rollin; and sister, Beverly Mueller.
Funeral services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Cape Girardeau, MO.
