  10 March 1943 Evening News of the Tonawandas Julius J. Stieg, prominent citizen of Wheatfield, where he was a lifelong resident, died suddenly yesterday at his Krueger road home of a heart attack. He was taken to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. He held many political offices, being town councilman at the time of his death. He was a justice of the peace for 14 years, former school tax collector and former assessor. He was a member of the Adams Fire company and the St. Paul's Lutheran church, East Felton street. He is survived by one brother, Van of Wheatfield, and a sister, Mrs. Lydia Brack of Twining, Mich. Funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon at 3:30 from the residence with the Rev. Rudolph Grabau officiating. Burial will be in Fairmount cemetery.
