LYNDONVILLE — Alice E. Krisher, 82, of 10684 Mill Road, Lyndonville, died Sunday evening,July 20, 1997 at Orchard Manor Nursing Home. Mrs. Krisher had been ill for the last 10 months. Bom Jan. 3, 1915 in Niagara Falls, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth (Wittcop) Retzlaff. Mrs. Krisher grew up in the Niagara Falls area.She married Vernon W. Krisher on Feb. 9, 1933. She moved,together with her family, to the Lyndonville area in 1943 where she worked on the family farm and raised her family. She worked for two years during World War II at Bell Aircraft Mrs. Krisher was a member of the Ashwood Wesleyan Church of Lyndonville where she taught Sunday School at one time and was a member of the Missionary Society of the church. She was at one time a member of the Farm Bureau.She enjoyed embroidery and needle work and gardening. A favorite pastime was traveling. Together with her husband, she wintered in Florida.New York City and Atlanta, Ga.were favorite cities.Mrs. Krisher is survived by her husband of 64 years, Vemon W. Krisher Sr.; five daughters and two sons, Joan (Jack) Thomas of Lyndonville and Tarpon Springs, Fla.,Vemon W. (Faye) Krisher Jr. of Alden, Suzanne (Henry) Hubert of Tarpon Springs, Fla., Marjorie Mapes of Medina, Carol (Jim Presher) Fulcomer of Atlanta, Ga., Danny L. (Christine) Krisher of Medina,Diane L. (Jim) Palmer of Simpsonville, S.C.; 21 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-greatgrandchild; 21 step-grandchildren;11 step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandchild; one brother, Herbert J. Retzlaff of Port Richy, Fla.; special niece, Barbara J.(Walter) Scharlau of Medina; several grand-nieces and -nephews.She was predeceased by two grandsons, Ronald Mapes Jr. and Richard Wesley Mapes.The family will receive relatives and friends today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Bames-Tuttle Inc. Funeral Home, 112 North Main St.,Lyndonville.A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Ashwood Wesleyan Church, Platten Road, Lyndonville. The Rev. Roy Harriger will officiate.Burial will be in LynhavenCemetery, Lyndonville.Memorial gifts may be made to Ashwood Wesleyan Church. By the Funeral Home's participation in the Living Memorial Program,a tree will be planted In,a national forest in«memory of Alice E Krisher perpetuating the belief that.
