RAINIER, WA — Stanley Elmer Sattelberg, age 85, of Salt Lake City, UT, formerly of North Tonawanda, passed away July 14, 2013, at Mt. Rainier, WA, while visiting his brother. Stan was born April 28, 1928 in North Tonawanda, son of the late Adolf and Florenna Sattelberg. He served in the U.S. Navy, attended the University of Michigan and graduated with a degree in civil engineering. In 1960 he married Naomi Belk. Stan worked for Chicago Bridge & Iron until his retirement. Stan's work took him to many places around the world. His greatest love was the outdoors - hiking, climbing and skiing. He climbed over 300 peaks and led many expeditions with friends; his final moments were spent doing what he loved most. Husband of Naomi Sattelberg; father of Chris (Mike) Parker; grandfather of Caitlin and Steven; brother of Adolf, late Lavern, late Jean, late Walter, late Donald Sattelberg, and late Anne Kelly; also survived by many extended family members. Family and friends are invited to call FRIDAY, July 26 from 2 to 3 PM at St. Martin Lutheran Church, 322 Old Falls Blvd., North Tonawanda, where funeral services will follow at 3 PM. The Rev. R. Devie Ellis will officiate. Graveside services, with military honors, will be held SATURDAY, July 27 at 9 AM in Acacia Park Cemetery.
