  Obituary from Tonawanda News GOERSS Gerhard V. Goerss, 68, of 1270 Pierce ave., North Tonawanda, died unexpectedly Tuesday (Jan. 19, 1971). Born in Bergholz, Mr. Goerss had resided in North Tonawanda for the greater part of his life and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, the Lutheran Layman's League and Rescue Fire Co., No. 5 of North Tonawanda. In 1925 he established the G.V. Goerss Dairy. Surviving are his wife Leona W. (nee Fritz) Goerss; two sons, James M. and Don D. Goerss; three grandchildren, all of North Tonawanda and a brother, Waldemere(sic) Goerss, of Clearwater, Fla. The family will be present Wednesday and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Sts., Tonawanda. Services Friday at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Old Falls Blvd. The Rev. Enno A. Schmoock will officiate. Burial in White Chapel Memorial Park. At the request of the family, flowers are gratefully declined and memorials to the Nigeria and India Foriegn Missions in care of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, North Tonawanda would be gratefully appreciated by the familily.
