Joanne M. Scherrer age 82 of Bergholz, was called to her heavenly home on January 21, 2015 at Mount St. Mary's Hospital. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on August 27, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Ruth (DuBois) Hassan. Joanne was a dedicated homemaker, enjoyed cooking, going for rides in the country, and was a member of the First Assembly of God, and the Wheatfield Seniors.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Edwin F. Scherrer. They were married May 22, 1953; three children, Darla Siemucha, Joel Scherrer and Arron Scherrer; son in law, Robert Dominguez; grandchildren, Merilee, Merika, Collette, Corey, Adam, Seth, Sarah, Luke, Hanna and Marian; three sisters, Lois (dec. Willis) Retzlaff, Sally (dec. Ronald) Archer and Betty Lou (George) Lozina; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Also predeceased by a daughter, Jan Dominguez and a grandson, Nathan.
Friends may call at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME (731-3234), 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield on Friday, January 23 from 4-8 p.m. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Dr. Jim Vigil, on Saturday, January 24 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Assembly of God, 9750 Niagara Falls Blvd. Interment will follow in the Wheatfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Niagara Hospice.
