- Eunice E. Heuer (Schimschack), age 80, of Washington Street, Bergholz, was called unexpectedly to her heavenly home on Sunday, June 15, 2008 at Mount St. Mary's Hospital. Born in the Town of Wheatfield, Niagara County, NY on August 29, 1927 to the late William and Hulda (Voelker) Schimschack. Eunice was a lifelong member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, where she was active in various organizations in the church over the years. She was a former active member of Tri-Community Ambulance Service and was a member of the Bergholz Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, Wheatfield Seniors, Wheatfield Democratic Club, an elections inspector with the Niagara County Board of Elections, enjoyed playing euchre and pinochle, baking and candy making. Eunice had been employed at the Carborundum Company, coated abrasives division, helped operate the former family store in Niagara Falls, Heuer's Market with her husband, and then at Sanger's Market.Survivors include her daughter, Kathleen (Keith) Potter of Bergholz; granddaughter, Bethany Potter; longtime friend, Beulah; great-granddog, Murphy; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Lewis N. Heuer on January 21, 1994. They were united in marriage January 25, 1948; four brothers, Wilbert, Alvin, Donald and Vernon Schimschack; and three sisters, Irma DeVantier, Viola Schimschack and Edna Pfohl.Friends may call at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME, 2436 Niagara Road (Bergholz), in Wheatfield, on Monday from 7-9 PM and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The Bergholz Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary will conduct a Memorial Service in the funeral home on Tuesday at 7:00 PM. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Philip N. Sallach on Wednesday at 11:00 AM in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, corner Niagara Road and Luther Street in Bergholz. Interment in Holy Ghost Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Ghost Lutheran Church.G
