- Helen Ruth Heuer Greer
Helen Ruth Heuer, 84, formerly of Niagara Falls and North Tonawanda, NY, passed away May 18, 2014. Helen was the daughter of the late Henry and Sophia Sattelberg Heuer. She worked for many years as an executive assistant in the construction industry in New York and South Carolina. She also was an accomplished musician in piano, organ and voice, having studied at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. Helen loved flowers and outdoor home landscaping. She was fluent in the German language and enjoyed speaking whenever she had the opportunity. She attended Seacoast Church of Greenville. Surviving are her two sons, Michael (Janet) Heuer of Annapolis, MD and Kevin (Maria) Heuer of Simpsonville; and four grandchildren, Michael Heuer II, Stefan Heuer and Carys and Rhys Dalton. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 22, 2014, at 3:00pm at The Mackey Mortuary with Pastor Ross White officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends Thursday from 2:00 - 3:00pm at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Greenville Humane Society, 305 Airport Road, Greenville, SC 29607.
