  4 February 1977 Tonawanda News PROEFROCK – George J. Proefrock, 81, of North Tonawanda, Wednesday (February 2, 1977) a DeGraff Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. Mr. Proefrock was a lifelong resident of North Tonawanda, a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, an Army veteran of World War I and former employee of DuPont, Niagara Falls, N.Y. He is survived by his wife, Annamarie (nee Altmayer) Proefrock; a son, Robert G. (June) Proefrock of North Tonawanda, and a daughter, Mrs. Jack (Irene) Weiss of North Tonawanda; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, William Proefrock of North Tonawanda, and two sisters, Mrs. Augusta Weyers of North Tonawanda and Mrs. Louise Mentor of Sparks, Nev. The family will receive friends at the Fretthold Funeral Home, Inc., 1241 Oliver St., at Ward Rd., North Tonawanda, Thursday and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held at the funeral home Saturday at 10 a.m., the Rev. Thomas K. Spahn will officiate. Interment in St. Mark Lutheran Cemetery. If so desired, memorials may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church.
