NORTH TONAWANDA - Howard Gilbert Leoschke, age 79, of North Tonawanda, NY, died May 15, 2010 at DeGraff Memorial Hospital, under the care of Hospice and his very dear friend, Sylvia. Born in Gasport, on February 18, 1931, he was the son of the late William C. and Hildegarde (nee Miller) Leoschke; step-son of the late Sadie Leoschke; father of the late Kathy Leoschke; brother of the late Donald M. Leoschke and nephew of the late Gilbert, Edwin and Norman Miller. During his teen years, he worked for R. Kill and D. Kill picking fruit in Gasport. He was a US Army Veteran serving in Japan and Korean during the Korean War. Howard had been employed by the Wurlitzer Co. and also M.C. Morgan Construction in Buffalo, retiring in 1990. He is survived by his very dear friend of 30 years, Sylvia Tucker and her family, all of North Tonawanda; a sister, Loanne (the late Robert) McCollum of Lockport; two brothers, Floyd (Dorothy) Leoschke of Clayton, OH and William (Marjorie) Leoschke of Valparaiso, IN. Also survived by 10 nieces and nephews and several grand-nieces, grand-nephews and cousins. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, May 29th from 10 to 11 AM at John O. Roth Funeral Home, Inc., 25 William St. (between Morgan & Broad Sts.), in Tonawanda, where services will be conducted at 11 AM following the visitation. Howard's brother, Rev. Floyd Leoschke will officiate. A private interment will be in Evangelical Protestant Cemetery in Pendleton. Flowers gratefully declined.
