Gladys A. (Strasburg) Beningo, 92, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on May 2, 2022 at Schoellkopf Health Care Center. Born on September 13, 1929 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late George and Anna (Grose) Strasburg and the wife of the late Raymond Beningo.
Gladys graduated from LaSalle High School in 1947. She earned her Bachelors Degree in 1951 and her Masters Degree in 1958, both in Elementary Education. She was employed as a school teacher for Huth Road School in the Grand Island School District, retiring in 1985. Following her retirement, Gladys and her husband moved to Springhill, FL until Raymond passed away in 2015. She came back to Niagara Falls to be with her family. Gladys was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Niagara Falls.
Gladys is survived by nieces and nephews; LuAnn (Tom) Via, Kathy (James Sikorski) Majka, Allan Strasburg, Laura Sutton, Heidi (Paul) Mollo, Karyn Beningo and Steven Beningo and several great and great-great-nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by siblings, Allan Strasburg, Arlene Luick, Earl Strasburg and Wray Strasburg.
Services will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Grace Lutheran Church.
