- Martha Willett Ferguson, 88 of Newfane, went home to be with the Lord March 25th, 2022 at Elderwood of Lockport. Born June 22, 1933, daughter of Harold and Edna (Lindke) Willett.
She worked as a dietician at her alma mater, Roy Hart Schools, and Duke University where she especially enjoyed serving meals at the marine biology lab. Her food service skills were enjoyed most by her family, especially when vegetables from the family garden were prepared or preserved. She was very active in the community serving at Teen Tunnel, Hamilton House, 4-H, church, Newfane School Board, Newfane Library Board, and Kenan Quilters Guild. She followed her life's dream and opened Martha's Cupboard Quilt Shop leading to a 12-year career fueled by her passion for teaching textile design.
Married Nov 28th, 1957, to late James Ferguson. She leaves behind her four children, James, Beth, Tod, and Julia, whom she lovingly raised. She was a devoted grandmother to Aaron, Meredith, Sarah, and Nate. The apples of her eye were her great-grands, Rhett, Emma, Tanner and Meritt. Meritt was born only hours after her great-grandmother's passing, a bittersweet day. Also survived by her sister, Joan; and many nieces and nephews; predeceased by her sister, Rita; sisters-in-law, Joan and Jeanne; and brother-in-law, Roger.
Memorial Services for both Jim and Martha will be held at First Presbyterian Church August 13th, 2022. Visit https://www.facebook.com/lockportjesus/ for more details, especially as the service gets closer.
