Milo D. Barber, 96, of the Town of Wheatfield, Niagara County, NY, was called home to be with the Lord, on Thursday February 19, 2009, at home, with his loving family while under care of his daughter Sandra Lee and Niagara Hospice. Milo was born in Lockport, New York on June 12, 1912, the son of the late Alfred D. and Blanche E. (Miller) Barber, and resided in the Shawnee area all of his life. He was a long time member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ - Shawnee, North Tonawanda, where he served on the church council. He had served on the Starpoint School Board for many years, and was a member of the Shawnee Volunteer Fire Company, for over 50 years. Milo was a District manager at Sunkist Growers Buffalo, Erie County, NY, for 45 years, retiring in June 1977. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 68 years, Isabel W. Barber (nee Williams) was called to be with the Lord on June 7, 2008. Milo is survived by two daughters, Sandra Lee Barber, Sharon (Paul) Kennedy; two sons, Keith (Shirley) Barber, Bruce (Sharon) Barber. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM, Saturday April 18th at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Shawnee, with the Rev. Ronald Loard, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Milo's memory, may be made to St. Paul's United Church of Christ - Shawnee, 3921 Mapleton Road, North Tonawanda, Niagara County, NY 14120.
