SCHIMSCHACK - Robert C. Schimschack of 2791 Upper Mountain Road, Pekin.
A native of Tonawanda, he had operated Schimschack's Restaurant in Pekin
with his father, the late Otto Schimschack, for more than 35 years. He was
a veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Navy. He was a
former treasurer of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church and a member of Pekin Fire
Company and Sanborn American Legion Post 969.
He is survived by his wife, Mary, two sons, Robert J. and Richard D. of
Pekin; two stepsons, Donald Smyth of Florida and James Smyth of Pekin; a
brother, Al Schimschack of California; two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Eleanor)
Tomm of Sanborn and Mrs. Joseph (Grace) Hassan of Hinsdale, N.Y., and two
grandchildren.
Funeral services at Pike and Jones Funeral Home Inc., 5893 Hoover Road,
Sanborn, at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Albert H. Gaal of St. Andrew's
Lutheran Church will officiate. Interment in Elmlawn Cemetery. Memorials
may be made to St. Andrew's Church. Member of Sanborn American Legion Post
969 will conduct services at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Family will be present from
7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
