  8 December 1936 Tonawanda News Helmuth C. Mellenthine Helmuth C. Mellenthine, 40 years old, died this morning at his home on the Ward road, town of Wheatfield, after an illness of two days with pneumonia. Born in North Tonawanda, he had resided in this locality all his life. He was a member of the Niagara Lutheran chorus and the St. Johnsburg fire department. He leaves a wife, Eleanor, nee Stenzel; a son, Calvin; a daughter, Viola; three brothers, Marcus Mellenthine, town of Wheatfield; Edmond Williams, Tonawanda and Walter Williams, Lockport and a sister, Mrs. Henry Broecker, Wheatfield. Services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence and at 2:30 o'clock from the St. John's church, Rev. Walter Thiemecke officiating. Burial will be in St. John's cemetery.
