  Obituary from Tonawanda News William F. Goerss, 78 years old, died early this morning at his home, Shawnee road, town of Wheatfield, after a prolonged illness. Born in the town of Wheatfield, he had resided there all his life with the exception of 15 years, which he spent in the town of Pendleton. He resided on the farm in Pendleton now occupied by Acacia cemetery. He was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran church on the Niagara Falls boulevard. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Gustav Reichert, Wheatfield, and Mrs. Edwin J. Wendt, North Tonawanda; seven sons, Arthur A. Wheatfield; Rev. Richard W., Nagercoil, India, Ezra C., Wilmer C., and Gerhard, North Tonawanda, Rev. Daniel F., Pitcairn, Pa., and Wallemar (sic) A., Cleveland; 27 grandchildren and a sister. Mrs. William Ferchen, Bergholz. Services will be held Thursady afternoon at 2 o'clock at the residence and at 2:30 o'clock from St. Paul's church, Rev. F. A. Hinners officiating. Burial will be in Elmlawn.
