With St. Stephens E p i s c o p al
Church as the setting, the marriage
of Miss Carol Ann Volkstadt to
Mr. Claude L. Werth was solemnized
this afternoon at 2 p.m.
with the Rev. Cuthbert MacLcan
officiating. The ceremony united
the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Howard Volkstadt, Lockport. to
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Philip
Werth. Lockport, before an altar
banked with white mums and pompons.
Carrying a bouquet of white gardenias
fluted with tulle to match
her gown, the bride, given in marriage
by her father, wore a nylon
tulle and lace gown over satin with
a Peter Pan collar and a pleated
yoke. A peplum of scalloped lace
formed a bustle in thc back which
billowed over a double skirt of
nylon tulle. A halo cap with nylon
nuching held her veil of pure silk
illusion.
Miss Marcia Van Duzer, as maid-of-
honor, wore a ballerina-length
gown of royal blue nylon tulle
over taffeta, with a softly gathered
bodice and the full skirt featuring
a back drape. Her ensemble was
completed with a matching stole
and a velvet floral headpiece with
a tiny face veil, and she carried
in a cascadebouquet.
The bridesmaids were Miss, Lorraine
Tucker, and Miss Sandra
Abram. They carried cascade bouquets
of yellow daisy mums, and
wore gowns identical to that of the
maid-of-honor. .
Suzanne Freck, flower girl, wore
an identical gown and carried a tiny
colonial bouquet.
Best man was Mr. Roger Volkstadt,
and ushers were Mr. Lyel
Fr,eck and Mr. Robert Hall.
Miss Betty Boyle was organist.
The mother of the bride was at-
tired in a frock of blue silk, with
which she wore black accessories,
and the mother of the bridegroom
favored a dress of plum colored
faille with a jacket, and black ac-
cessories. Each mother wore a cor-
sage of pink roses.
For the reception, at the LaSallt
Yacht club after the ceremony, the
bride's table was embellished with
vases of pink roses on either side
of a four tier wedding cake.
For the honeymoon in Canada
and Michigan, Mrs. Werth will de-
part in a two -piece suit of brown
wool, with ginger colored acces-
sories and a corsage of yellow
roses.
Mr. and Mrs. Werth will make
their home in Lockport.
