Willard L. Schultz, 86, a longtime vegetable farmer, died Saturday (June 22, 2002) in Newfane Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, where he had been a patient since February 2000.
Schultz was born in Wilson, attended local schools and lived here all his life.
He farmed 58 acres on Irish Road and sold his vegetables at the Clinton-Bailey Farmers' Market in Buffalo. He was a former vice president of the Clinton-Bailey Farmers Market Association and served on its board for 12 years.
Schultz served on the board of elders of St. Peter's Lutheran Church at North Ridge, Cambria, where he was a lifelong member. He was a former member of the church's cemetery board.
Schultz was also an exempt member of South Wilson Fire Company.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, the former Martha L. Brandt; a son, Randy of Wilson; a brother, Carlton of Newfane; two sisters, Mildred Hurtgam of Niagara Falls and Eleanor Eckert of Burt; and one granddaughter.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Peter's Lutheran Church at North Ridge, 4169 Church Road, Cambria. Burial will be in North Ridge Cemetery, Cambria.
