- John W. Strasburg, of Niagara Falls, died on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at home. He was 72. He was born in Niagara Falls, New York on January 27, 1937, a son of the late Albert F. and Clara (Schultz) Strasburg. He attended area schools and was graduated from the former LaSalle Jr./Sr. High School. He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in April 1966. For several years, Mr. Strasburg worked for the International Paper Company and later for Union Carbide Company where he retired as Foreman. Survivors include his wife, Dottie (Haynes) Strasburg; two sons, Jason Strasburg (Lynn) of North Tonawanda, John "Jack" Strasburg of the City of Tonawanda; siblings, Robert Strasburg of Niagara Falls, Albert Strasburg of Winterhaven, FL, Richard Strasburg of Phoenix, AZ and Joanne Millville of Bergholtz; five grandchildren, Aiden, Olivia, Devon, Collin and Callista Strasburg; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, William, Charles and Donald Strasburg. Friends may call Saturday after 9:30 AM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, where Memorial Services will be held at 10 AM with the Rev. Matthew Sorenson officiating.
