- JOANNE C. MILLEVILLE, age 85, the former co-owner and co-operator of The Meeting Place restaurant in the 1980's, was called to her heavenly home on October 14, 2020, following a lengthy illness in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence.The former Joanne Strasburg was born on January 30, 1935 in Niagara Falls, NY, to the late Albert and Clara (Schultz) Strasburg. She attended local schools and was a graduate of the former LaSalle High School. She was a former member of Bergholz Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, and a former member and past president of the ladies auxiliary of the American Legion Wheatfield Post 1451. It was because of her involvement with the legion, that she met her husband, Alfred "Ollie" Milleville. He died on Thanksgiving Day in 1996. Joanne was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Bergholz.Survivors include two daughters, Judy (Dennis) Walck of Grand Island and Pam (Tim) Kowalik of the Town of Niagara; two sons, Steve (Alice) of Grand Island and Doug of Lewiston; a brother, Albert "Babe" Strasburg of Florida; five grandchildren, Kari Corsaro, Adam Walck, Kim Milleville, and Dustin and Kourtney Kowalik; and three great-grandchildren, Robert Corsaro III, Abigail Corsaro and Brody Walck. Predeceased by six brothers, Charles, William, Robert, Donald, Richard and Jack.Visitation and Services, with the Rev. Dan Tabor, officiating, will be private, due to Covid restrictions. Memorial contributions may be made to St. James Lutheran Church. Arrangements were with the DuBois Funeral Home.
