DONALD F. STRASBURG, RETIRED WELDER
Funeral services for Donald F. Strasburg, a retired welder, will be held at 10 A.M. Saturday in Lane Funeral Home, 8622 Buffalo Ave. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston. Strasburg, 75, died Tuesday (Feb. 6, 2001) in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Born in Niagara Falls, he was a graduate of the former Trott Vocation High School. On Dec. 17, 1943, he joined the U.S. Army during World War II and was missing in action overseas for 18 months. Strasburg was stationed in central Europe, Normandy and northern France. He was honorably discharged in December 1945. Strasburg was employed by Industrial Welding on Buffalo Avenue for 27 years and later worked as a supervisor for Pyron Metals for more than 23 years. He was a member of Wheatfield Post 1451, American Legion, where he served as a past commander. He also was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. His wife of 53 years, the former Mary Pendergast, died in May. Survivors include a daughter, Susan R. Friedman of Niagara Falls; two sons, William of Los Angeles and Michael R. of El Dorado Hills, Calif.; five brothers, William of Charleston, S.C., Albert of Winterhaven, Fla., Richard of Phoenix, and Robert and John, both of Niagara Falls; a sister, Joanne Milleville of Bergholz; and two granddaughters.
