- Hilda A. Hermanson, of Sanborn, NY, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2008, at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY.Mrs. Hermanson was born in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY, on November 10, 1917, the daughter of the late John and Augusta (Stoelting) Strasburg.She was a life long resident of Sanborn and was employed with the Carborundum Co. for many years, before retiring. She was a member of the Sanborn Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary, the American Legion Wheatfield Post #1451 Ladies Auxiliary and Das Haus in Bergholz. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends, playing cards, bowling and traveling.Mrs. Hermanson was the wife of the late Clinton Sanborn Hermanson, who died in April of 1979. She is survived by two sisters, Olga Wermuth of Youngstown, NY and Alma Herbst of Lockport; her brother-in-law, Les Read of Sanborn, NY; also many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Robert and Burnett Strasburg, Elena Read and Ida E. Schworm. The family will be present at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY, from 3-7 PM Friday, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM with the Rev. John D. Cooke officiating. Memorials may be made in her name to the Sanborn Fire Co. or to the American Heart Association. Interment in Mount View Cemetery, Town of Cambria, NY
