W. C. Strassburg Dies in California; Services Today
A former North Tonawanda resident, William C. Strassburg, died Wednesday at the home of his daughter. Mrs. Arthur (Esther) Franklin, of Malibu, Calif. He was 91.
Funeral services for Mr. Strassburg will be today at the Little Chapel of the Dawn, Santa Monica, Calif., with the Rev. Lawrence Wynekin, of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Pacific Palisades, officiating. Mr. Strassburg is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Alma Wilke of Valley Center, Calif.; Mrs. Earline Rosebrock of Santa Monica and Mrs. Franklin. He also leaves seven grandchildren, one of whom, Mrs. Elda Loge Kopp, still resides in North Tonawanda, and 18 great grandchildren. He was born in Niagara County on June 28, 1867. He married the former Wilhemina Krull in 1892 in Bergholz. Mr. Strassburg was a member of St. Mark's and St. Matthew's Church, North Tonawanda and was former ownere of the Krull Coal Co. He and his family moved to California in 1923. Mrs. Strassburg died in 1957.
