CONSTABLEVILLE - Miss Elisabeth K. Zimmer, 76, West Main Street, a retired teacher, died early Tuesday morning, April 1, at the Sunset Nursing Home, Boonville where she had lived for the past three years.
Born on February 12, 1899, at Constableville in the building that is now Hotel Parquet, she was a daughter of Joseph and Flora Schwenk Zimmer. Her younger life was spent in Constableville, where she graduated from Constableville Union School. She was graduated from Syracuse University in the Class of 1920.
Miss Zimmer studied abroad in France and Germany for a year after graduation. She taught in the schools in the Constableville area and later in the Inlet and Saranac Lake Schools. Miss Zimmer taught in the Bell Road School, a part of the Rome School System, for 15 years. She retired in 1967.
She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. St.. Paul's Guild, the Rome Retired Teachers Association and the Centurions of Syracuse University. She is survived by one aunt, Mrs. Clara Linck, Constableville, and several cousins.
