BERNDT - Arthur R.
Berndt, 76, of 7 Elmwood Park,
South, Tonawanda, Tuesday
(April 7, 1970) at DeGraff
Memorial Hospital after a short
illness.
Mr. Berndt is survived by his
wife, Evelyn M. Berndt; a son,
Gerald R. Berndt of Tonawanda;
a stepson, Gerald F. Kropp
of Holliston, Mass.; two grandsons,
Dennis A. Berndt of Tonawanda
and Michael B. Kropp of
Holliston; a brother, Julius F.
Berndt of Tonawanda, and
several nieces and nephews. He
was the brother of the late
Walter Berndt.
Born in Arnprior, Ont., Mr.
Berndt had resided in Tonawanda
for 53 years. He was a
retired employe of the New
York Central Railroad, a 51-
year member of the
Brotherhood of Railroad
Trainmen, a member of the
Grove Street Christian Church,
the New York Central Square
Club and Tonawanda Lodge 247,
F&AM, under whose auspices a
memorial service will be
conducted at the funeral home
at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
Friends may call from 2 to 4
and 7 to 9 p.m. at Hilliard
Funeral Home Inc., 147 Delaware
St., Tonawanda, where
services will be conducted at
1:30 p.m. Friday. The Rev.
Donald L. Gardner will
officiate. Interment in Acacia
Park Cemetery.
