  Niagara Falls Gazette Restaurant Man, Bergholtz, Dead William Loeschke in Business There for Thirty Years BERGHOLTZ, April 23.-William Loeschke, 62 years old, well known Bergholtz restaurant proprietor and & resident of this locality for the greater part of his life, died at Memorial hospital today, following a brief illness with pneumonia. During the 30 years that Loeschke operated his restaurant in the Niagara road, he had become famous for the excellence of his German cooking and was widely known throughout Western New York as "Big Bill." Many persons were in the habit of driving for miles for one of his famous dinners. Born in Germany, Mr. Loesch (sic) came to this country with his family when seven years old and spent most of the time since then in Bergholtz. He was ill for only a few days. He was a member of St. James Lutheran church of Bergholtz. Surviving are his wife, Ruth Wolf Loeschke. daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Christian Wolf, Bergholtz peace justice for many years, and four children. Alice, Helen, William and Norma. Loeschke, all at home. Funeral arrangements have not yet been made, although the services will probably be held Sunday afternoon.
