Mildred L. Mietz, an original member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Wolcottsville Fire Company, died Tuesday in Medina Memorial Healthcare System after a long illness. She was 85.
Born Mildred Pafk in Basom, she graduated from Akron High School. She lived many years in Wolcottsville and wintered in Florida from 1976 to 2001.
Mrs. Mietz was a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Wolcottsville, where she taught Sunday school and was a member of Ladies Aid.
She also was a member of the Wolcottsville Home Bureau and had been involved in the 4-H program in Royalton.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Lloyd E.; two sons, Lee of Williamsburg, Va., and Lynn of Medina; a brother, Lawrence Pafk of Akron; two sisters, Ethel House of Kansas City, Kan., and Arlene Totten of Akron; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Route 31, Middleport. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, West Shelby.
