- Rose M. Lederhouse, of Pekin, NY, died Wednesday, August, 13, 2003, in Mount St. Mary's, Lewiston, NY, at the age of 80, after a short illness. She was a life long resident of Pekin, born on October 25, 1922, on the family farm, where she resided, the daughter of Michael and Julia Cindrich, where she attended local schools. She worked at the Carborundum, in production, before joining the United States Army, serving as a Wac, during World War II. After the war she returned to the Carborundum Company. Rose was later employed as a School Bus Driver for the Niagara Wheatfield Central School District, for 20 years, retiring in 1983. She was a member of the Pekin Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, and was Past President of the Niagara County Firemen Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Friends of Kenan Center Herb Club and the Cambria Historical Society. Rose enjoyed the spring the of years, when she could be out doors working in her many flower beds and gardens. Surviving is her husband of 54 years, Stanley Lederhouse; a daughter Deborah Lederhouse, of Lockport, NY; a son, Dennis [ Maryanne ] Lederhouse, of Sanborn, NY; five sisters, Mary Schimshack, of Lewiston, NY; Catherine Behnke, of North Tonawanda, NY; Mildred Dooley, of Pekin, NY; Frances Wiseman, of Niagara Falls, NY; Helen Knox, of Sanborn; a brother L. Martin Cindrich, of Pekin, NY; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late, Ann Mittelstaedt and John Cindrich. The family will be present at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, Sanborn, from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 PM, Friday, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 AM, with the Rev. Kit Snyder, officiating. Burial will be in the North Ridge Cemetery. Should friends desire memorials, in Rose's memory, may be made to the Hope United Methodist Church, or the Pekin Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary.
