  Schenkel -- DECATUR - Ethel Lorraine Schenkel 73, of Decatur died Friday (Feb. 6, 1998) in her home. Services will be 10 A.M. Tuesday in J.J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home with visitation 5 to 7 P.M. Monday. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery, Riverton. Memorials: American Cancer Society. Mrs. Schenkel was born in Sullivan on Feb. 22, 1924, the daughter of Henry and Jesse Baugher Dow. She was a member of West Grove Church of God. She married Grant E. Schenkel on Nov. 15, 1941. Surviving are her husband; sons, Ronald Schenkel and friend Irene Borders, Philip Schenkel and wife Donna, Jackie Schenkel and wife Diane, all of Decatur; daughters, Sandra Kay Haseley and husband Steven, Tina Marie Redman and husband Gene, Susie Lorraine Schlosser and husband Daniel, all of Decatur; brother, Charles Baugher and wife Joan of Sullivan; sister, Bernice Wright of Mattoon; sister-in-law, Maxine Howard of Dalton City; 10 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three great-stepgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter and five brothers and sisters.
