Wolcottsville Man Found Dead In Car
AKRON - A Wolcottsville man was found dead in his car on Maple Road early Sunday morning, apparently from carbon monoxide poisoning according to Erie County sheriff's deputies. Bernard Bruning, 29, of Campbell's Inn, Block Church Road, was found by William Pogel of Akron, said Deputy Thomas Weston. Detective William Dispensce said the Bruning car, which had been parked at the side of the road, had a faulty exhaust system. A native of Newstead, Mr. Bruning was born Nov. 27, 1941, the son of Mr. and Mrs, Edwin Bruning. He was a member of St-Michael's Lutheran Church in Wolcottsville and a former member of the Wolcottsville Volunteer Fire Co. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Hilda B. Geltz of Niagara Falls; two sons, Mark and Steven of Maple Road, Akron, and a sister, Miss Gladys Bruning of Barker. Friends may call from 7 to 9 pm. tonight and from 4 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the Bernhardt Funeral Home, 130 Main St., Akron. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Michael's Church with the Rev. Hilbert J. Huth, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will be in Eldred Cemetery, Akron..
