Former Niagara Falls native Richard W. Klettke, 82, an Occidental Chemical Corp. retiree, died Wednesday (April 2, 1997) in Memorial Hospital of Burlington County, Mount Holly, N.J.
Born in Niagara Falls, he lived here until moving to Moorestown, N.J. in 1992
He had worked at Occidental for more than 40 years until retiring as a fire and safety inspector in 1974.
Klettke was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where he served as an elder, financial secretary and treasurer. He was also a member of the board of directors at Hooker Chemical Corp. Federal Credit Union.
He was active in the Men's Industrial Tennis League in Niagara Falls for more than 20 years.
He was the husband of the late Verna N. (Schroeder) Klettke, who died in 1995.
Klettke is survived by a son, William R. of Turnersville, N.J.; a daughter, Karen J. Marcinek of Appleton, Wis.; a brother, Walter of Plymouth, Wis.; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel in Lewiston
