  6 May 1927 Tonawanda News John Stenzel, 76 years old, died this morning at his home on the Ward road, Town of Wheatfield. Born in Germany, he came to America at the age of 14 and resided in the town of Wheatfield for the past 62 years. He is survived by three sons, Edward, Albert and Ernest Stenzel, North Tonawanda, a daughter, Mrs. August Proefrock, Lockport, and 14 grandchildren. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the residence and half a hour later at the St. John's church, St. Johnsburg, Rev. Walter Thiemecke officiating. Burial will be at St. John's cemetery.
