NORTH TONAWANDA. Feb. 26.
A very pretty wedding was solemnized
in St. John's Evangelical
Lutheran church, St. John'sburg, N.
Y., on Saturday, February 16, at
7:30 pm. when Miss Margaret E.
Thiemecke, daughter of the Rev.
and Mrs. J. Walter Thiemecke, of
Ward road, and Mr. Levant H.
Vorpahl, son of Mrs. Ella Vorpahl,
of 149 East Felton street, North
Tonawanda, were united ln marriage..
The bride's father, the Rev.
J. Walter Thiemecke, officiated before
the altar which was decorated
with cut flowers, flanked on either
side with candelabra. The church
was decorated with candles at each
outside window and at the aisle
pews.
Mrs. J. Walter Triemecke, the
brides mother, sang, "I Love You
Truly." before the ceremony and
"Today We at Thine Altar Stand,"
before the marriage vows were
spoken. As they knelt for prayer,
Mrs. Thiemecke sang. "The Lord's
Prayer." Mrs. Wallace Senechal
accompanied her at the organ.
A 15-minute musical preceeded
the wedding ceremony by Howard
Rowsell who presided at the organ
and who played the wedding
marches.
To ther beautiful strains of Logen-
grin's Wedding March, the bride was
given in marriage by her brother,
Walter H. Thiemecke. The bride
wore a gown of white brocaded satin
with peplin at the waistline trim-
med with lace, sweetheart neckline
trimmed with lace, long sleeves, the
skirt forming a long train. Her
finger-tip three-tier veil was held
with a tiara of orange blossoms,
and she carried a shower arm bou-
quet of white roses. She wore a
single strand of pearl beads, a gift
of the groom.
Miss Beatrice Stenzel, maid of
honor, wore a blue brocaded satin
gown with silver sequin calot head
dress and blue slippers. She carried
an arm bouquet of pink roses and
wore a double strand of pearl beads,
a gift of the bride.
Cousins of the groom, the Misses
Jane and Marjorie Hagen. of Ken-
more, N. Y., acted as bridesmaids
were dressed in gowns of yellow
and acqua marquisette made alike
and wore gold sequin calot head
dresses, gold slippers and triple
strands of pearl beads. They carried
arm bouquets of red roses. The
bride presented them with gold
compacts.
Miss Barbara Senechal, flower
girl, preceeded the bride and was
dressed in pink taffeta and carried
an arm bouquet of pink roses She
wore a gold bracelet, a gift of the
bride.
Robert Thiemecke. brother of the
bride, was best man and Melvin Vorpahl
and Robert Leverentz were
ushers.
Mrs. J. Walter Thiemecke. the
bride's mother, wore a black transparent
velvet dress with sweetheart
neckline fastened with rhlnestone
clips and rhinestone accessories. The
bridegroom's mother chose a brown
crepe dress with gold hat. Both
wore corsages of pink roses.
A wedding reception was held at
the St. Johnsburg fire hall. About
175 guests were present from the
Tonawandas, Buffalo, Kenmore and
Niagara Falls.
Mr. and Mrs. Vorpahl left for a
trip to New York City, the bride
traveling in an aqua suit with brown
accessories.
The bride is employed at the
Kardex company and the bridegroom
is employed at the Buffalo Bolt
company.
The bride was entertained at
several showers in her honor given
by Mrs. Robert Schoenfeldt and
Beatrice Stenzel, mrs. Walter H.
Thiemecke and Mrs. J. Walter Thie-
mecke, Mrs dorothy Senechal and
Mrs. Doris Klemer and the Misses
Marjorie and Jane Hagen.
