  North Tonawanda NY Evening News - 4/6/1943 John W. Weigand, 77, died suddenly yesterday afternoon at his residence, Nash road and Falls boulevard, where he had conducted a tavern the past 27 years. Mr. Wiegand was born in Germany. He came to America 45 years ago, locating in Easton, Pa. He later removed to Buffalo, coming to the town of Whealfield 37 years ago. He was a member of Friedens church, the Adams Fire company and Vanderveer Lodge, I.O.O.F., Easton, Pa. He leaves his wife, Anna; five sons, John of Buffalo, William of the town of Wheatfield, Staff Sergt Frederick J. Wiegand of Miami Beach, Fla. Adolph of Bergholtz and Joseph of the town of Wheatfield: two iauglters, Mrs. Elizabeth Campbell at home and Mrs. Harry Mueller of Buffalo; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Rites will be held Friday atternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence. The Rev. Theodore Muyer will officiate. Burial, will be in Acacia Park.
