- COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) - A man was shot and robbed while attempting to pay for an item that was posted for sale on social media, per Columbus Police. Officers responded to the intersection of East 21st Avenue and Ontario Street, in northeast Columbus, on a report of a shooting just after 9:30 Wednesday evening. When they arrived, they found 25-year-old Kyle Haseley had been shot. He was rushed to an area hospital in life threatening condition. Columbus Police said Haseley went to the area to meet a purchase merchandise from a seller on a social media sales site. Witnesses told police that the gunman took money from the victim after shooting him. The incident remained under investigation. Police say anyone wanting to buy items off social media should meet in a safe place. Columbus Police, and many other local police agencies, have areas designated for sales initiated online. Kyle Christopher Haseley, 25, passed away on March 12, 2019, surrounded by his family. He was born on November 7, 1993 to Christopher (Nicole) Haseley and Theresa (Anthony) Testa. Kyle is was born in Niagara Falls, NY, and moved to North Carolina at the age of 5. He graduated from High Point Central High School in High Point, NC. After high school, Kyle relocated to Columbus, Ohio with family. Kyle enjoyed music, playing video games and spending time with family and friends. In addition to his parents, Kyle's loss will be greatly felt by, his son Cameron, sisters, Gianna and Ella, brothers, Anthony, Vincent and Ayden, grandparents Gerald (Marion) Haseley, Deborah (Herman) Smith, and John (Michele) Ayers, aunts, Melissa (Brian) Chriss and Andrea Ayers, uncle David Haseley, cousins Michael and Jack Chriss, and Benjamin Haseley. Kyle had many grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins from a large extended family. They will also greatly feel his loss. There will be no services at this time. The family's will be planing a celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family will be setting up a fund for Cameron and would prefer donations be made there.
