- GRAND ISLAND — Richard "Dick" Graff, age 73, of Grand Island, died Monday, June 28, 2010 at Niagara Falls Memorial Hospital, after a long illness. Born in North Tonawanda, he was the son of the late Herman and Maude (nee Knope) Graff and was a Navy Veteran. Dick was employed at American Brass (Autokumpu) in Buffalo before retiring. He is survived by his wife, Arlene (nee Moderacki) Graff; his daughter, Debra (Michael) Melillo; two sons, Richard (Barbara) Graff and John (Deborah) Graff; two sisters, Mildred Sattelberg and Elsie (Louie) Shaw; and a brother, James Graff; also surviving are eight grandchildren, a great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 4-8 PM on Thursday only at the HAMP FUNERAL HOME, INC., 37 Adam Street at Seymour, Tonawanda, where funeral services will be held at 8 PM on Thursday. Friends invited. Interment with military honors at Bath National Cemetery. If desired, memorials to Rescue Pet Services in Lockport are preferred by the family.
