- Marion E. Demmin, age 81, of Wheatfield, was called to her heavenly home on May 4, 2009 in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital. Born March 29, 1928 to the late William and Flora Gray. Long time member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church and was active with the Ladies Aid, Holy Ghost Lutheran School- PTA, on the school board, and Lutheran Woman's Missionary League. Marion enjoyed basketball, hockey, knitting, sewing and crocheting. She enjoyed spending time with her friends at Guild Care. Predeceased by her husband, Elton Demmin, Sr., on June 4, 1985; and a brother, William Gray. Survivors include nine children, Sharon (Richard "Butch" Laufer) Ciszek, Suzanne (Kerry) Pardee, Christine Reynolds, Donna (James) Church, Jacqueline Woodley, John (Carol) Demmin, James (Diane) Demmin, David (J. Susan) Demmin and Elton "Chip" (Patricia) Demmin Jr.; 35 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Barnaby, Patricia Rutherford; sister-in-law, Marjorie Gray; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME, 2436 Niagara Road, Wheatfield on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Services on Thursday at 11 AM in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, with Rev. Philip Sallach officiating.
